First Steps Program Coming to Haisley This Year!

First Steps is the Early Childhood Division of Rec & Ed, and we are delighted to have them join the Haisley community this year!  The program will be located in room 108 and offer once a week classes for families with children ages 1 to kindergarten entry.  Some of the classes include an adult while some of them are for the preschooler without an adult.  There is lots of additional information on their website for both the First Steps-Ann Arbor program, which is for families, and for Preschool offerings as well. Here is the link for more detailed information:

Here is the general schedule:

Fun at One
Thursdays - 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.
12-24 months. Toddlers play together with each other and with their grown up in a very fun space with ramps, tunnels, dramatic play, and even art projects. This is followed by musical activities.

Time for Twos
Thursdays 11:00-12:00 p.m.
Ages 24 to 36 months. This class is very similar to Fun at One only it's just for 2 year olds.

Explore, Invent, Discover, Preschool with You!
Mondays and Wednesdays - 10:00-11:30 a.m.
Ages 2 1/2 - 5 & an adult. Each week offers a different theme or topic to explore through art, music, books, science, math, acting/pretending, and building. In other words, preschool is always about STEAM. These play-based choices allow children to learn by doing and to explore at their own pace with a little support from their grown up.

Preschool Spanish
Thursdays 1:30-2:15 p.m.
Ages 3 1/2 - 5. Language Adventure offers this special preschool class to expose children to Spanish. They really learn a lot in a playful environment.

Drawing for Fun & Expression
Tuesdays 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Ages 3 1/2 - 5. This class is run by Young Rembrandts and is similar to Power of Drawing for the youngest child. Children are shown how to put what they see down on paper to share their vision with others. Every drawing is just right because that's what they created.
